Paul Hornung
Paul Hornung got the title The Golden Boy while earning the Heisman
Trophy at Notre Dame, but it was under coach Vince Lombardi with the
Green Bay Packers that he actually earned it. Hornung became a key
ingredient in the famed Packers' run-to-daylight sweep. A triple
threat, Hornung held the Packers' scoring record at one time.
Despite the fact his career was interrupted by injury, military
obligations and a gambling scandal, Hornung became a legend with the
Packers. After retirement from football, he continued to do some
broadcasting work and remained one of the most popular former Packers
in Green Bay.
